Our pre-conference training courses provide a way to learn more about Cityworks in a relaxed working environment. Training courses are conducted by Azteca Systems staff members who are ready to help you increase your knowledge and understanding of the software. In these sessions, you will work with Cityworks hands-on on a desktop computer provided by Azteca Systems, ask questions, follow along with other training attendees while working through detailed training manuals and discuss real-world applications of Cityworks and other related software.

Classes fill quickly and are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Cityworks PLL

Cityworks Server PLL Administration (2 Days)

Description
This course emphasis is on the setup and management of Cityworks PLL (Permits, Land and Licensing) from a PLL Administrator perspective. The course will cover the configuration of Cityworks PLL permits and cases including user management, permit/case template configuration, workflow setup, fee configuration, custom case data fields, and basic reporting using Crystal Reports. Attendees will also be instructed on the integration points between Cityworks AMS and Cityworks PLL as well as how Cityworks PLL utilizes the GIS. Throughout the course, Azteca’s training staff will share example workflows and data from existing clientele as well as best business practices in Cityworks PLL configuration.

This training covers best practices for the installation, configuration, and implementation of Cityworks Server AMS.

  • SQL Server database tasks (database creation, roles, users, logins and permissions)

  • Cityworks Server AMS installation and creation of the Server website
  • Securities and permissions
  • Designer configuration specific to Server AMS
  • Constructing the Cityworks Server AMS environment (creating Inbox, defining roles, adding users, etc.)
  • Cityworks Server AMS interface (Inbox, service request, work order, inspections, event layers)

Prerequisite

If not, it is highly recommended that you attend a Cityworks Designer Core Configuration web training prior to attending this training or clear it with John Jarnagin: Azteca Systems Inc. Advanced Cityworks Server AMS (1 Day – Monday, June 25)

Description
This advanced training offering is for Cityworks users who have moderate-to-advanced experience with a Cityworks Server AMS implementation performed and a production Server AMS environment configured. Cityworks Server AMS Administrators who want to foster their technical working knowledge and experience with Cityworks Server AMS should attend this training course.

  • XML customization (i.e. form layout configuration such as the default fields shown for searches)

Prior experience in XML, Esri enterprise architecture, and/or server machine configuration would be helpful for attendees, but is not necessarily required.


Cityworks Designer/Desktop

Cityworks Configuration Using Designer (2 Days)

Description
This course teaches core configuration functionality within Cityworks Designer.

Start from ground zero:

  • Create a SQL Server 2008 database and configure the related role, logins, users and permissions
  • Build an Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) connection
  • Utilize Cityworks Database Manager to build the database table structure for Cityworks.
  • Create a new Cityworks domain, domain administrator, domain groups, assign employees to the groups, and assign permissions
  • Learn how to customize drop down menus, custom fields and custom field templates.
  • Understand how to create service request, work order, and inspection templates.
  • Configure Cityworks to interact directly with the geodatabase.

Work in the Cityworks Desktop environment to understand how tasks performed in Cityworks Designer are reflected in impacts Cityworks Desktop. Create service requests, work orders, inspections, event layers and everything in between to become fluid with the Cityworks Desktop interface.

  • Individuals who will be assisting the Cityworks Domain Administrator perform certain duties within Cityworks Designer
  • Cityworks Domain Administrators who have never had formal training on the above topics from Azteca Systems

Description
The focus of this course is on producing concise summary reports with the Cityworks Report Engine and Crystal Reports.

Topics covered in this course include:

  • Cityworks Report Engine basics
    • Ad-Hoc Reports, Predefined Reports, Budget Reports
  • Crystal Reports basics
    • Crystal Toolbars and basic functionality
  • Building simple to basic Crystal reports using the Standard Report Wizard tool.

Attendees will become familiar with the Cityworks table structure, table relationships and the operation of basic Crystal Reports functionality.

Who Should Attend
Beginning Cityworks Report Engine and Crystal Report users who have a minimal understanding of these software products and would like to expand their knowledge.

Advanced Crystal Reports (1 Day – Tuesday, June 26)

Description
Attendees will become familiar with the Cityworks table structure, table relationships and the advanced operation of Crystal Reports as it relates to Cityworks. Attendees will also work with Crystal Reporting as it relates to Cityworks Server AMS.

  • Understanding the Cityworks database diagrams and how tables/fields might be related
  • Learning what tables/fields to include in a report based upon the desired outcome
  • Building eight Crystal Reports, each building upon one another and becoming more complex throughout the training.

2012 Pre-Conference Business Partner Overview

Cityworks Desktop/Anywhere, AMS & PLL Overview
(1 Day – Tuesday, June 26)

Description
This course will provide an overview of new functionality and configuration changes/additions in Cityworks Desktop/Anywhere, Server AMS, and PLL. The one-day class is designed for Azteca Systems Business Partners who have previously attended the Cityworks Administration Training course.

The course will include an explanation of new functions available in Cityworks Desktop/Anywhere, Server AMS, and PLL. In addition, there will be information regarding changes with the administration of Esri software when supporting Cityworks AMS and PLL. Topics covered for Cityworks Server AMS will include Inbox configuration, XML user account configuration/customization, inspection weights and condition scoring, maintenance scoring, heat maps, and map tools and editing. Topics covered for Cityworks Server PLL will include Public Access, the workflow engine, business licensing, and integration points with AMS. In addition, enhancements and changes with the use and administration of Cityworks Desktop/Anywhere will be covered.

Who Should Attend

  • Azteca Systems implementation partners who want to understand new Cityworks functionality and configuration issues prior to assisting clients in implementing it
  • Azteca Systems implementation partners who want to understand new Cityworks functionality for sales and marketing purposes
